Manchester City have formally appealed the opinion issued by the Premier League Commission in the club’s disciplinary case, alleging material errors of law, principle and fact.
The club confirmed that it lodged a comprehensive appeal at 7pm on Thursday, October 1, 2026, challenging the Commission’s opinion on several grounds.
In a statement published on its official website on Friday, the English Premier League champions described the opinion as containing “clear material errors, of law, principle and fact”, arguing that the findings were unsafe.
Manchester City also reiterated its position that it was innocent of the allegations brought against it by the Premier League, insisting that a comprehensive body of evidence supported its case.
The club said it remained committed to respecting due process but noted that restrictions arising from the ongoing proceedings limited what it could disclose publicly.
