As the countdown to the coronation of His Majesty, King Charles Douglas MacPepple Jaja, Jeki VI, Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom, enters its final seven days, Professor of Law and Dean of Law, University of Port Harcourt, Aseme-Alabo Edward Tamunosiminikarama Bristol-Alagbariya, has congratulated the monarch and prayed for the success of the historic ceremony.
Bristol-Alagbariya, who is Okoloamakoromabo XX and Kuruama Amadabo of Bonny Kingdom extended his goodwill to the Amanyanabo-in-Council, Alapu-in-Council, the various Houses and the entire people of Opobo Kingdom.
In a message marking the seven-day countdown to the coronation, and made available to The Atlantic Bell, he said the ceremony should be committed to the care and direction of God Almighty.
He congratulated the monarch on the historic occasion, while wishing him well as he prepares to formally ascend the throne in a ceremony expected to draw dignitaries, traditional rulers, government officials, community leaders and guests from across Nigeria and beyond.

“Your Majesty, greetings to you. As we countdown seven days towards your coronation ceremony, we congratulate you,” Bristol-Alagbariya said.
He also extended his goodwill to the traditional institution and the people of the kingdom, saying: “We wish you well. We also wish the entire Amanyanabo-in-Council, Alapu-in-Council and all the Houses and people of Opobo Kingdom well.”
The legal scholar further placed the forthcoming ceremony under divine guidance, declaring: “We lift up your coronation ceremony to the care and direction of Almighty God.”
He invoked the indigenous expression, “Wamini Imiebam pa Tamunobem,” as he offered prayers for the success of the coronation and returned the glory, honour and adoration to God.
“In advance, we return all the glory, honour and adoration to God Almighty regarding the success of this coronationceremony,” he stated.
Bristol-Alagbariya also prayed for a long and peaceful reign for the monarch, with the wellbeing of Opobo Kingdom and its people as a central focus.
“Long may Your Majesty reign towards the wellbeing of Opobo Kingdom and beyond,” he prayed.
The coronation of King Charles Douglas MacPepple Jaja, Jeki VI, is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, in Opobo Town, marking a major moment in the continuing history and traditional institution of the ancient Opobo Kingdom.
