Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has announced a cash reward package of up to $1.5 million for the Super Eagles following their impressive 2-0 victory over Algeria at the ongoing AFCON 2025, a result that secured Nigeria a place in the semi-finals.
Victor Osimhen was the standout performer in the quarter-final encounter, scoring one goal and providing an assist as the Super Eagles outclassed the North African giants to keep their title hopes alive.
In a statement shared across his social media platforms, Rabiu lauded the players for their spirited performance, describing it as a morale booster for Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.
“You have lifted the spirit of the nation, and we proudly cheer you on as you prepare for the semi-finals,” he said.
To further motivate the team, the BUA chairman pledged a sum of $500,000 to the players should they win their semi-final clash, alongside a bonus of $50,000 for every goal scored in that match.
Rabiu went on to announce a more substantial reward if the Super Eagles go all the way to lift the AFCON trophy. According to him, a victory in the final would attract a cash prize of $1 million, with an additional $100,000 promised for each goal scored in the championship match.
“Should you go on to win the final, I further pledge USD $1,000,000, plus USD $100,000 for each goal scored in the final,” he stated.
He concluded by wishing the team success as they continue their quest for continental glory, reaffirming his support for the players as they push for a historic AFCON triumph.
