As expected, results of the local government elections held in Rivers State and conducted by the State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) were officially released on Sunday, August 31, with winners and lovers emerging.
The scenario in Rivers State is divided into moody scenes in the camp of those who are not only isolated from the political developments in the state and those who still question the legality of the elections.
On the other hand, celebrations, pats on the back, and handshakes of joy and fulfilment have taken centre stage in the camps of those announced as winners.
The results as announced by RSIEC shows that the All Progressives Congress (APC) won in the chairmanship seat and all available councillorship seats in 20 local government areas, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won in three LGAs.
