Nigerian Red Cross Society Rivers State Branch Elects New Executive

The Nigerian Red Cross Society, Rivers State Branch, Nigeria, has elected new executive members to mann their activities for the next four years.

The election of the new executives was held as part of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Branch, which took place in Port Harcourt last weekend.

After a free and fair election conducted by the Electoral Committee headed by Mr. Bright Odum, it brought on board newly elected members with Professor Uche Dike returning as the Branch Chairman.

Others are, Vice Chairman, Dr. Irimoren Tina; Legal Adviser, Barr.Eze Ahiakwo;
Finance & Property Management Adviser, Mrs.Caroline Gbobbo;
Finance and Resource Mobilization Adviser, Mr. Nathaniel Aniekan Moses;
Communication and Advocacy Adviser, Dr. Ibinabo Ogolo;
Capacity Development Adviser, Mr. Moses LimeJuice;
Disaster Management Adviser, Mr. Sunday ThankGod Muagah;
Program Planning Adviser, Mr. Etche Loveday Sunday;
Health & Care Adviser, Dr. Lucy Nwigo Mama;
Divisional Development Adviser, Amb. Gladys Fubara Jumbo and
Volunteer, Gender & Youth Adviser, Mr. Joyful Benson.

The newly elected executives were duly inaugurated, marking the start of a new leadership era for the Rivers State Branch of Nigerian Red Cross Society.

In his acceptance speech, Prof. Uche Dike commended the last executive council and pledged to improve on past efforts.

Prof. Dike urged members to remain proactive in order to move the Rivers State Branch forward.

He congratulated the National representatives for ensuring a free and fair election and assured members that the branch would engage with the Governor of Rivers State to strengthen cooperation and humanitarian service in the state.

A representative from the National Headquarters, Abuja, the National Branch Development Adviser, Chief Nworie Emmanuel Nte advised the new executive members to uphold the vision of the society and play their roles effectively.

Chief Nworie however advised all members of the Branch to step up their volunteering roles for the sake of humanity.

He also urged members to renew their membership data and update their records in the official Red Cross database.

The other National representatives present at the AGM/Election of the Branch were National Officer, Dr. Adamu Bable and the Zonal Secretary of the South-South Branch Secretaries, Mr. Wilson Ekhomogiazin.

Others in attendance were former executives of the Branch, divisional coordinators and volunteers.
