Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress from the Peoples Democratic Party.
The governor announced his defection at a stakeholders meeting held at the government house in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.

Fubara joined a host of his colleagues who have defected to the APC this year.
Governor Fubara announced the development during a stakeholders meeting at the Government House on Tuesday.
He said the decision is in the interest of Rivers people.
The governor added that he has gotten the approval of President Bola Tinubu to join the ruling party.

Fubara’s defection has been much anticipated following several meetings with the President and the recent defection of 17 Rivers State House of Assembly members.
